Alumni Highlight: Mauricio Laguan

Meet Mauricio Laguan, an alumnus of the MPA program!

"As a graduate of the Master of Public Administration program, I've always been passionate about promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity in the public sector. Throughout my studies, I delved deeply into the ethical obligations and responsibilities of pursuing justice and equity in the public and private sectors.

Armed with this knowledge, I felt confident and excited to continue my career after graduation. And, as luck would have, I landed a position with Gap Inc. as Senior Manager for Workplace Equity. This was a perfect opportunity for me to apply my expertise in both the public and private sectors to achieve social equity with Gap Inc’s platform and reach.

My work with Gap Inc has been incredibly rewarding, and I feel proud of the progress we've made in promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace. By collaborating with colleagues across the company, I've been able to drive positive change and help ensure that Gap Inc is an inclusive and equitable place to work.

Looking back on my experience, my studies in public administration have truly allowed me to see the importance of sectors working together to achieve positive societal change. I feel grateful for the knowledge and skills I gained throughout my graduate program, and I'm excited to continue using them to make a difference in the world."
