Executive MPA Program
The Executive MPA is designed for students with at least five years of
middle-to-upper level management experience in public or nonprofit organizations. Executive students graduate with an MPA Degree, but enjoy a different format from evening students. The internship requirement is waived for Executive MPA Students, but Exec Students are required to fulfill the American Government co-requisite, 14 course requirement (9 core and 5 electives) and the Major Research Paper requirement. Degree Requirements
The Executive MPA differs from the traditional
evening program in four respects:
1. Students take one course at a time in an intensive format. Three courses will take place during week-long formats, running 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. The other nine courses take place every other weekend
(Friday from 5:30-8:30/9 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.).
2. Students progress through the program as a cohort, entering in August and completing their courses approximately two years later in the same cohort.
3. The area of concentration is designed specifically for Executive MPA students: Advanced Public Management.
4. A fixed fee is charged for the program. This fee covers the cost of all tuition, fees, texts, parking and administrative costs to run the program.
Tuition Information
Students who fail to complete their degrees in the Executive MPA may transfer to the Evening MPA program if they are in good standing.
